ROSE WILSON

Artist / Graphic Designer

Rose Wilson was born in Perth, Ontario and has always had an interest in art. This self-taught wildlife and portrait artist
finds that capturing the many aspects of nature and the people around her is a most satisfying experience.
She has traveled extensively in Canada and parts of the U.S. and is always excited about the beauty that surrounds her...
as it is all inspiration for her art. In her travels, when she doesn't have the time to paint, she carries her camera to
capture reference material. Rose has been fortunate enough to have lived in Western Canada, Eastern Ontario,
and on the East Coast of Canada and has welcomed the many cultural diversities she has experienced.
Her exposure to such a variety of life experiences has made her art what it is today.

She enjoys working in acrylics, pencil, watercolors, pen and ink, foremost, but also utilizes
other media to acquire the effect she is trying to portray. This award-winning artist has several paintings
and drawings in private collections across Canada, the U.S., Turkey and Australia. Rose has worked in the
architectural signage, sign painting, graphic design, specialty advertising, commercial design and
publishing industries. Rose displays her artwork at several galleries and private venues in and
around Eastern Ontario. She welcomes commissions.

As a well-known former member of Cape Breton Artists Association and a current member of
Rideau Lakes Artists' Association and the Arts Carleton Place database, Rose has displayed her paintings
in several group, solo and juried shows. After a very busy year, her calendar is rapidly filling up with bookings
for both group and solo shows beginning again in the new year. Rose resides near her hometown with
her husband and grandson. She enjoys working professionally on her art on a full time basis,
as well as working out part-time as a Graphic Designer.
